Size Guide:
As a general guide, your artwork should cover around 60% to 75% of the wall space. This helps it feel present without crowding the room.
If you're hanging art above furniture, aim for the piece to be about two-thirds to three-quarters of the width of what's below. This keeps everything visually connected.
It's also worth considering color - choose tones that complement your space to create a cohesive, effortless look.
If you're unsure, try marking out sizes with masking tape on your wall. Live with it for a day or two - it's the easiest way to see what feels right.
These are just guidelines - always choose what feels right for your space.

About this art: “Jesus Walking on Water”
This 100% hand-painted original Jesus walking on water oil painting depicts Jesus in a flowing light-colored robe, surrounded by calm reflective water, distant mountain silhouettes, and a luminous cloud-filled sky. Soft ivory, cream, beige, and warm gray tones create a peaceful Christian artwork with a delicate sense of light, space, and spiritual reflection.
Jesus appears near the center of the composition, viewed from behind and facing the distant horizon. His small yet meaningful presence becomes the spiritual focal point within the expansive landscape. A subtle reflection beneath his feet connects the figure with the water, reinforcing the painting’s interpretation of the biblical scene of Jesus walking on water.
The composition offers a quiet, contemplative expression of faith, trust, and hope. Low mountain ranges extend across the horizon, while pale clouds and softly reflected light surround Jesus with an atmosphere of stillness. The spacious setting invites viewers to pause and reflect on his presence.
Blending contemporary Christian art, minimalist landscape composition, and Impressionist-inspired brushwork, this painting brings together biblical imagery and a restrained neutral palette. It is an excellent choice for anyone searching for a Jesus walking on water oil painting, Christian wall art, religious landscape painting, neutral biblical artwork, or horizontal inspirational canvas art for a home, church office, or prayer room.

“I paint the silence between water and mountains, where distance, light, and stillness become part of the same breath.”
Lan Zhi
About The Artist
Lan Zhi is a contemporary landscape painter from Shanghai, China, whose work is inspired by lakes, distant mountain ranges, and the quiet rhythm of changing natural light. He often paints outdoors, observing how mist, reflections, and shifting weather gradually transform a familiar landscape.
Working with brushes and layered oil paint, Lan builds his compositions slowly, beginning with restrained lines and broad tonal shapes before adding subtle color and texture. Soft blues, mineral grays, muted greens, and warm neutral tones give his paintings a calm, spacious quality.
Rather than describing every detail, Lan focuses on balance, distance, and atmosphere. His work reflects the influence of traditional Chinese landscape aesthetics while remaining distinctly contemporary, bringing a sense of clarity, stillness, and natural harmony to modern interiors.
